Comparing Cultures at the Glenbow

Today we visited the Glenbow and we had the incredible opportunity to learn about the four big indigenous cultures that made their home on this land, before Canada was even a country.  We learned how the indigenous cultures from the North, the East, the South and the West differed in terms of how they lived, what they hunted to eat and their traditions. We thoroughly enjoyed discovering different artifacts and even got the change to touch some and guess what region they would have originated from. Ask your child to tell you what their favourite part of this field trip was, I am sure they will have a lot to share.

  1. Hello Mrs. Gartner's class! It sounds like the field trip was a great success! I LOVE the Glenbow Museum and really enjoy the exhibits dedicated to our indigenous peoples. I look forward to hearing more about what you have learned! Why do you think it is so important to learn the indigenous ways of knowing? How does this impact the way we live in Canada now?
